About meinpublic, the Public Map of What You Make and Who You Become

Why meinpublic exists

Tien Doan built meinpublic because he had the same problem from both sides. As a builder, he had no single place that showed everything he was doing. As a reader, he had no way to get to know someone. meinpublic answers both with one public map per person: the whole of them, in one look.

As a builder, he runs three products and keeps goals for his health and his family. None of it lived in one place. He wanted "something to showcase all of the things I'm doing", so that he had "a story to send to my audience" instead of scattered pieces.

As a reader, he had the other half of the problem. He wanted to know the people whose work he watched, and he couldn't. A post shows one moment. A photo shows another. A CV shows experience and education. A person might have 1,000 posts, and none of them shows who that person is.

Each map is kept up over time, so it tells a story, and a real story has stalls in it. A project can be parked with a reason, or let go with its reason kept. Either way it stays on the map as plainly as what shipped, because the whole story is what a reader roots for, not only the wins.

Reading is free, and keeping a map is paid

Reading is free for anyone. Keeping a map costs money, because paying is how a person says they mean it, and because everyone who can answer your question chose to be here.

Keeping a map costs $5 a month or $50 a year. The first 300 founding members get their first year free, with no card.

What we leave out on purpose

Each of these makes a page easier to perform on and harder to keep honest, so none of them is here.

Is meinpublic free?

Reading is free for anyone. Keeping a map of your own costs $5 a month or $50 a year, and the first 300 founding members get their first year free, with no card.

What does meinpublic leave out on purpose?

Likes, follower counts, a ranked feed, free maps, and points and badges. Applause makes people post polished things instead of true ones. Only the person being watched sees how many watch them. Your inbox is what you chose to watch, newest first. Paying is how you say you mean it, and the map moving is the reward.
